Iran wins 4 medals in 1st Asia-Pacific Karate Championship

TEHRAN, Aug. 30 (MNA) – Iran’s Shotokan Karate team gained 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in the JKA 1st Asia-Pacific Karate Championship 2015.

In this course of the competitions which was attended by 419 athletes from 16 countries hosted by Thailand in the Indoor Stadium Huamark Bangkok, Payam-e-Noor University’s kata team who represented Iran in the tournament grabbed four medals.

Iran’s team consisting of Mostafa Poorjalali, Amar Mirzaei, and Hamid Arabpoor led by Mohsen Rashidinejad could reach the final competitions by defeating all their enemies but were beaten by Japan’s powerful team and became vice-champion.

In age 19-21 Girls kata, Farzaneh Ghasemi Zadeh won the silver medal while, Helya Zeiali in age 9 girls category could win a silver and a bronze medal in kata and Kumite sections respectively.
