Rouhani to receive Hammond on Mon.

TEHRAN, Aug. 23 (MNA) – British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond is scheduled to meet and hold talks with President Hassan Rouhani here on Monday.

British Secretary of State Philip Hammond who arrived in Tehran on Sunday heading a political and economic delegation is slated to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Monday.

The British diplomat is also scheduled to meet with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, Parliament’s Speaker Ali Larijani, and the Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani.

Hammond will also hold talks with Minister of Oil Bijan Namdar Zangeneh as well as the Governor of Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif.

The UK official who arrived in Tehran this morning attended the reopening ceremony of the British Embassy which has been closed for 4 years. Meanwhile, the Iranian Embassy in London was also reopened in the presence of Iran’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Administrative and Financial Affairs Mehdi Danesh-Yazdi.

Hammond entered the embassy building immediately after his arrival accompanied by Ajay Sharma, the new Chargé d'affaires who will be Britain's top diplomat in Tehran.
