In an attempt to boost martitime ties between Teharn and Moscow, two Russian warships arrived in Anzali on Sunday.
On their three-day stay, the Russian commander and crew are scheduled to visit Afshin Rezaei Haddad, the commander of Iran’s fourth maritime zone in the port city. Holding joint naval exercises and visiting Iran's floating Marine Corps are also among the plans as well.
This is the third trip of a Russian fleet to Anzali, with the first two being made in 2007 and 2014.
Iranian navy forces also are likely to pay a visit to Russia in mid-October, haddad announced.
