The Manager of the project Seyed Reza Reihani-Nia said foreign samples of the device use satellite data to operate, which is not applicable in Iran, however, the new device has the ability to work based on local sensors.
Reihani-Nia stated that the indigenous device can highly optimize the country's energy policy, adding that the system works based on parameters affecting climate and irrigation including humidity, temperature and other geographical conditions affecting crops in need of water.
While being mass-produced in the country, the new irrigation system can be available in the market for a price less than $1,500, Reihani-Nia added.
