MPs not satisfied with govt. representatives’ answers

TEHRAN, Feb. 1 (MNA) – The MPs who had signed a motion to summon President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the parliament to answer lawmakers’ questions about a number of the administration’s irregularities were not convinced by the answers provided by his representatives at a meeting on Wednesday.

Reza Hosseini, the spokesman for the MPs seeking to summon the president, said on Wednesday that it was agreed that another meeting will be held on February 6 to prioritize the questions and to present a report to the Majlis Presiding Board so that it could be decided when the president must attend a parliament session.

The president must appear before the parliament to answer MPs’ questions within 30 days after the Presiding Board acknowledges the receipt of the report.

And if the president is informed of the Presiding Board’s decision to summon him on February 6, he must appear before the parliament early in March.
