Zob Wins All-Iranian Asian Water Polo Match

TEHRAN, December 24 (Mehr News Agency) – Iranian side Zob Ahan Tuesday narrowly overcame the honorary team of the Islamic Azad University in the Asian Water Polo Championships underway in this capital city.

Zob Ahan won 11-10 in the indoor pool of Azadi Sports Complex, 10km west of Tehran.

   

In another game, Al Ahly of Saudi Arabia thrashed Taiwan 27-0.

   

Al Ahly struggled to a draw against Kuwait's Al Arabi Monday.     

 

The two sides leveled 7-7 while, the IAU defeated Taiwan 10-5.

   

The matches the varsity side plays are neutral in the table of the 4th Asian water polo event.

   

Zob Ahan of the central city of Isfahan rested Monday.

   

The Isfahani side walked over Taiwan as the 4th edition started Sunday.

   

Zob took the first step firmly, celebrating its easy 16-1 victory over the Taiwanese.

   

Pejman Pourmatin and Milad Nazemi scored four goals each, Majid Gholami and Ali Shariat netted two apiece, and four goals came by Mohsen Rezvani, Alireza Yaraqi, Amin Zafarmanesh, and Bahman Moucheh-Kiani.
