IRNA quoted Kamkar as saying that more than 39,577 thousand tons of goods have been exported, imported, and transited in the special economic zone and nearly 554 million dollars of customs has been paid.
He added that the figure has a 360 percent increase compared to the figure of the same period of the last Iranian year.
There are totally 117 production, industrial, and economic units in the Salafchegan zone, Kamkar said.
Salafchegan of Qom, 155 km southwest Tehran, is aimed to be home to one of the most advanced complexes in rail industry in the Middle East, Kamkar was quoted as saying by the Mehr News agency on December 5, 2006.
Iran’s first GTL (gas-to-liquid) unit became operational in Salafchegan Special Economic Zone in Qom Province on 2005.
