In a decree on Wednesday, Araghchi named long-serving diplomat Esmail Baghaei as the new spokesman of the Iranian foreign ministry, replacing Nasser Kan'ani, who was holding the post for more than the past three years.
Baghaei, whose full name is Esmail Baghaei Hamaneh has previously served as the Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative at the UN Office in Geneva.
