TEHRAN, Feb. 10 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian attended a meeting with the Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Azmi Mikati on Saturday.

The Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes supporting the resistance in Palestine, Amir-Abdollahian said in this meeting.

In the last 4 months, Iran tried to prevent the expansion of the scope of the war in the region by stopping the attacks of the Israeli regime against Gaza, he said.

"The Palestinians are the real owners of Palestine and they are the ones who should decide for Palestine and its future," he added.

Today, the developments in Gaza are moving towards a political solution, but Netanyahu still sees the solution in war to save himself, Amir-Abdollahian said.

Everyone should try to find a political solution to end Israel's attacks and war crimes against Palestinians as soon as possible, he said.

Lebanese Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of the Gaza and Palestine issue, and he emphasized the necessity of continuing efforts to establish a ceasefire in Gaza immediately.

"We are looking for peace and stability in the region and efforts should be made to end the war against Gaza and eliminate the risk of expanding the scope of the war in the region," he said.

Earlier on Saturday, Amir-Abdollahian met the Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance movement Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah where they discussed a variety of issues regarding the developments in the region and the situation in the Gaza Strip during the meeting.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Beirut on Friday evening.

Upon his arrival, the Iranian top diplomat was welcomed by Iranian diplomats residing in Lebanon and Resistance envoys.
