Different countries reacting to 'Al-Aqsa Storm Operation'

TEHRAN, Oct. 07 (MNA) – Different countries in the world, especially the Arab states, in response to today's developments in occupied Palestine, asked the parties to avoid escalating tensions.

Iraq:

Iraqi government spokesman Bassem Al-Awadi reacted to today's operations of the Palestinian resistance against the Zionists in the occupied territories and said that "Today's operation by the Palestinians is a natural consequence of the targeted repression that the occupying regime has carried out against this nation for decades."

Saudi Arabia:

Saudi Arabia’s foreign affairs ministry said in a statement that the Kingdom “is closely following developments in the unprecedented situation between a number of Palestinian factions and the Israeli occupation forces, which has resulted in a high level of violence taking place on a number of fronts there,” according to a report by the Arab News.

“We recall our repeated warnings of the dangers of the situation exploding as a result of the continued occupation,” the statement said. It also called on the international community to activate a credible peace process that would lead to a two-state solution.

Oman:

Oman also called on both parties to “exercise utmost levels of restraint, stressing the importance of protecting civilians.”

“Oman is following with concern the ongoing escalation between the Palestinian and Israeli sides as a result of the continued illegal Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, constant Israeli aggressions, which portend serious repercussions,” Oman’s state media said.

Egypt:

Egypt has warned of “grave consequences” from an escalation in tensions between Israel and the Palestinians amid widespread condemnation of Hamas’ rocket attacks on Israel.

Egypt, through a statement from the foreign ministry carried by the state news agency on Saturday, called for “exercising maximum restraint and avoiding exposing civilians to further danger”.

Turkey:

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan meanwhile has called “on Israelis, Palestinians to act with restraint, refrain from aggressive acts that will exacerbate the situation.”

“We invite all parties to act reasonably and to stay away from impulsive steps that raise tensions,” Erdogan said.

Russia:

Russia has also urged for ‘restraint’ after the attacks on Israel.

“We are now in contact with everyone. With the Israelis, Palestinians, Arabs,” Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told Russian private news agency Interfax, adding, “Of course, we always call for restraint.”

Today, Palestinian resistance groups launched their biggest operation against the Zionist Israeli regime in years in a surprise offensive that combined fighters crossing the fence into Israeli-occupied cities with a heavy barrage of rockets from the Gaza Strip.

According to local sources, several Israeli soldiers and armored vehicles were captured and transported into Gaza.

The Israeli regime army reported a large-scale attack by Palestinian resistance fighters, including the firing of hundreds of rockets in southern and central regions and the infiltration of fighters into cities near the Gaza border.

At the same time, the United States, the European Union, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, and Ukraine while condemning today's operations of the Palestinian Resistance forces in separate statements, showed their support for the Zionist Israeli regime.
