IRIB pays tribute to writer Sarshar

TEHRAN, July 5 (MNA) -- Contemporary writer Mohammadreza Sarshar known as Reza Rahgozar was honored in a ceremony at the Kowsar Hall of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) here on Tuesday.

 

Several officials, including culture minister, the IRIB officials, and literary figures attended the ceremony.

 

 

The Minster of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Hossein Saffar Harandi recited the message of the Supreme Leader at the ceremony, reading, “The revolution’s fiction stories are greatly indebted to Mr. Sarshar.”

 

Harandi said, “I, as the culture minister, have been using his (Sarshar’s) literary productions for years and we were colleagues at Kayhan newspaper. He is one of the best literary models for the youth.”

 

Sarshar was given several awards from different organizations, including the IRIB, publications of Sureh Mehr and Sorush, Iran’s National Library, as well as the Art and Cultural Organization of Tehran Municipality.

 

The writer in a short speech said, “I consider the ceremony as an opportunity to honor art, literature, and those who have made efforts to promote the cultural ideology of the revolution and have been never appreciated.”

 

“I would like to mention that since I have started doing research and writing about the Prophet Muhammad (S), I have received great blessings.”
