TEHRAN, Dec. 19 (MNA) – Schools have been closed on Tuesday in Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, Urmia, and Arak and sports events have been cancelled as a result of heavy air pollution.

The authorities have imposed restrictions on road traffic and trucks, and heavy vehicles are banned from entering the city centers.

Air pollution is normal in this time of year in Iran’s major cities sometimes even forcing government offices to shut their doors.

There are reports that the schools in Tehran will remain closed tomorrow for the third consecutive day.

The air pollution in Iran is approaching a serious level, hospitalizing lots of people with heart problems and other illnesses every year.
