Iran ranks 5th with most STEM graduates

TEHRAN, Sep. 24 (MNA) – In 2016, 335,000 Iranian graduates finished a degree in STEM, making Iran the fifth most science-educated country in the world, according to Forbes.

Forbes statistics for 2016 shows that 335,000 Iranian graduates finished a degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) in 2016, ranking fifth after China, India, US, and Russia as the most science-educated country in the world.

China with 4.7 STEM graduates is the world’s ‘smartest’ country in the world. India with 2.6 million new STEM graduates last year is in second place while the US had 568,000, ranking third. Russia with 561,000 STEM graduates is the world’s fourth most science-educated country. Indonesia and Japan rank sixth and seventh after Iran, with 206,000 and 195,000 STEM graduates, respectively.
