Launch of Simorgh satellite carrier, Iran's strategic move

TEHRAN, Jul. 28 (MNA) – Iran’s senior MP and Head of the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said there are a few countries in the world that could build and launch satellites, acknowledging that Iran's move to launch Simorgh satellite was a strategic one.

Speaking during a local ceremony on Friday, Boroujerdi said we must give US President Donald Trump a lesson on political politeness to learn not to escape from what his country has signed as an international document, and which is endorsed by the UN Security Council.

"Not only Iran, but also other member of 5+1 group are also opposed to the US measures regarding the violation of nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)," he said, adding US efforts will bear no results and will receive crushing response from Iranian MPs.

Pointing to Iran's recent Missile launch, Boroujerdi said Iran is bound to its commitments to avoid developing nuclear bombs and is opposed to countries that build bombs against their commitments in the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), including the United States which stands on top in the list of the countries moving towards destruction of the world.

Missile power is the only deterrence power possessed by Iran and the Parliament supports the Defense Ministry and the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps' aerospace organization in this regard, Boroujerdi noted.

He went on to hail recent launching of Iran's Simorgh satellite carrier into the orbit, saying the launch was a strategic move.
