US expectations of Iran indicate ignorance

TEHRAN, May 21 (MNA) – The expectations of US Secretary of State about Iran’s missile program indicate his ignorance, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces said Monday.

Brig. Gen. Massoud Jazayeri said that in response to the remarks made by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Riyadh who called on Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to end missile testing and sponsoring terrorism in Washington's first reaction to his re-election.

“The resistance front in the region today is at its highest strength and is able to fight back against military and terrorist moves,” Jazayeri stressed.

He went on to add, “the only way to restore peace and security to the Middle East is if American forces leave the region and reactionary regimes stop their terrorist and aggressive operations against independent states.”

“The military policies and objectives of the Islamic republic of Iran are being implemented within a defined and determined process and nothing can stop this process,” he said.

Jazayeri went on to add, “in today’s situation in region and the world, and given the activities of Iran’s sworn enemies, it is one of our priorities to continue, expedite and develop our defense objectives, including the country’s missile defense systems.”
