Iran to take major steps unless US changes approach

TEHRAN, Jun. 18 (MNA) – If Americans and Zionists fail to change their current course of actions, Iran will take more basic steps, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces said Saturday.

As quoted by IRIB, Brig. Gen. Massoud Jazayeri deemed US' governing body as a hegemonic, insatiate, extortionist and profiteer regime; adverse qualities which form roots of Iran’s hatred for the US.

He added that, since early years of Islamic Revolution, the Iranian regime has been familiar with US hostility to the Revolution and influential revolutionary bodies like IRGC.

“Of course, Americans need to change its procedures or Iran will force them to do so,” continued Jazayeri.

The official went on to note that public opinion considers the US and global Zionism as godfathers of terrorism; “it remains as a historical irony that America calls IRGC forces terrorists while the Iranian body has fought against terrorism since the beginning of its formation and has supported people of Palestine, Iraq and Syria.”

Brigadier General Jazayeri said another strange point was that the world still remembers confessions made by the current President of the US who said the ex-president had created and supported ISIL.

Armed Forces spokesman said every piece of evidence suggests that ISIL and other terrorist groups have been trained by America and reactionary regimes of the region.

“Measures taken by the US, including intensifying of sanctions, violation of the JCPOA and accusing IRGC forces of being terrorists, all make Iran more determined to fight the Great Satan,” he underlined.
