Zarif, Al-Moallem discuss ceasefire, humanitarian aid

TEHRAN, Dec. 31 (MNA) – Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has received Syrian counterpart Walid al-Moallem to talk Syrian situation, especially political initiatives of peace.

Mr. Zarif and Mr. al-Moallem sat in a meeting in Tehran to address humanitarian aid delivery to affected areas in the vicinity of Aleppo, Fua and Kfarya.

Syrian FM heads a delegation of political officials notably Maj. Gen. Ali Mamlouk, Syrian Head of National Security Bureau. The second round of meeting was held behind closed doors and to the most probability would discuss political initiatives and measures to pin terrorists down to their trenches.

Moalllem’s visit to Tehran is critical in that it addresses important issues of Iran and Russian coordination on the ground in Syria. The agreed upon ceasefire is a relief for the humanitarian aid workers as well as to the general public in Syria and will definitely help grounds for political dialogue Turkey, Iran and Russia had also predicted as the next course of developments.
