Iran's security 'model' for regional countries

TEHRAN, Oct. 26 (MNA) – Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian Parliament's Director General for International Affairs, said security in the Islamic Republic could be a model for other regional countries.

Speaking with Chilean charge d'affaires to Iran on Tuesday, Amir-Abdollahian,. recalling the history of good ties between Iran and Chile, stressed the need for developing relations in political and parliamentary fields.

He also underlined that the strengthening of relations between Iran and Chile would benefit the two important countries.

Pointing to the abundant capacities existing in both countries, he said the rise in commutes between the two countries plays an important role in creating mutual understanding and recognition of the potential of both countries.

Stressing the need to combat terrorism, Amir-Abdollahian said the spread of terrorism in West Asia is among major issues we face in today world.

Unfortunately, he noted, international organizations and politicians have been in trouble to solve the political crisis in the region.

Amir Abdollahian went on to add, "security in the Islamic Republic of Iran can serve as a model for other countries in the region."

Chilean charge d'affaires to Iran, for his part, also pointed to the growing trend of cooperation between Iran and Chile, saying Chile highly regards bilateral relations based on mutual respect, understanding and common interests. Chile welcomes any cooperation with Iran in various fields, especially in the parliamentary level, he noted.

He underlined that Iran-Chile parliamentary cooperation stands at the best level in international communities.

Chilean charge d'affaires expressed the country's willingness to expand and improve bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
