Israel ‘epicenter of instability' in West Asia

TEHRAN, Jun. 06 (MNA) – Iranian deputy FM stressed that the security of regional countries is an interconnected issue and the epicenter of instability in West Asia is the ‘Zionist regime’.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs made the remark in a meeting with a group of Lebanese elites from diverse partisan affiliations who were participating in a ceremony to mark the 27th anniversary of demise of Imam Khomeini (RA) in Tehran on Sunday.

“Today, we are witness to the efforts and determination of Syrian people and Army as well as the support from the Resistance movement in standing against various waves of terrorist attacks inspired by the plots of the Zionist regime for over five years,” Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said.

He went on to reaffirm the Islamic Republic’s position on the future of Syria, saying “the Syrian crisis has no military solution and it will be a political solution consistent with the decision of the Syrian people that will have the last say on the future of Syria.”

In regard to the Yemeni crisis, he said “the United Nations has now been compelled to reveal instances of Saudi crimes against the innocent Yemeni children, oppressed people, and the destruction of the country’s infrastructures under the blind airstrikes by the Saudi regime.”

The Iranian diplomat also stressed that the Muslim world must prioritize the Palestinian issue above all else.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran considers regional dialogues based on rationality as the only political approach for untangling the current crises with an aim to achieve a shared vision and all-round cooperation among all countries in the region,” he said.
