Economy Min. appointed to probe US court confiscation

TEHRAN, Apr. 26 (MNA) – Iranian government appointed Economy Minister Tayyebnia as the head of committee to investigate US Supreme Court’s decision of seizing Iranian funds in US banks.

After the decision of the US Supreme Court according to which the American families of terror victims can collect compensation from frozen assets of Islamic Republic of Iran in American banks, the cabinet of President Rouhani formed a committee to investigate and advocate the rights of Iranians in the case.

The Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, Ali Tayyebnia, is installed as head of the committee and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi, and CBI governor Valiollah Seif are the other members of the committee.

Also the committee will be responsible for preparing a comprehensive report on the issue which would also recount the effective elements and suggest appropriate counter-measures in reaction to the case and present it at the next meeting of the cabinet on Sunday.
