Addressing a ceremony in Tehran on ‘Laborers and Future of Iran's Economy’, on the verge of the elections of Parliament and Assembly of Experts, Rouhani urged the whole nation from all social levels to take part in the event voting for those who care about economic growth.
“mass participation in the upcoming elections would pave the way for economic growth, investment attraction as well as youth employment,” he said.
“On the basis of the Leader’s remarks, we need to select candidates who are devoted to the nation and the Revolution being aware of enemy’s conspiracies,” he stressed.
Rouhani further noted “more unity among the nation brings about more suitable ground for the country’s development; the selected representative need to be pacesetters for advancement and perfection.”
“The elections belong to the Iranian nation alleviating the need for advice of non-Iranians,” underlined the official adding “our nation is conscious and awake being capable of recognizing their own interests.”
Rouhani maintained that the efforts of brave, knowledgeable and able negotiators in the face of world powers brought about JCPOA implementation providing the ground for economic activities; “time is ripe now for workers and entrepreneurs to work hand in hand taking further steps; the country needs more economic growth, stability, unity as well as integrity and workers need to be assured of their children’s employment.”
The president called for the creation of an atmosphere for local and foreign investment as well as transfer of technology to improve working conditions; “we all need to grasp the reality of the current time since a thread has turned into an opportunity; numerous countries are competing over Iran seeking to make investments inside the country taking advantage of Iranian experts.”
Hassan Rouhani also commented that high oil prices in previous years could not resolve the unemployment difficulties while the country is now being managed despite falling oil prices; “we need to alleviate reliance on oil and bloom non-oil exports leading to economic prosperity.”
He further emphasized the need to preserve the rights of working women so that there is no discrimination between men and women.
Elections for the 10th term of the Parliament as well as the 5th term of the Assembly of Experts will take place simultaneously on February 26.
