Ali Larijani, in a message, condemned the Saudi regime for the martyrdom of prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr
He said that the martyrdom of Sheikh Nimr by the Saudi regime and its ruthless rulers was indeed a heartbreaking event for the Islamic Ummah.
Such events will increase regional security problems since it belongs to the world of Islam not an individual and the Saudi regime, with its inhuman and wrong acts particularly in the past one or two years, has fueled fires of wars and insecurity, he added.
Unfortunately the incident was contrary to human rights and the freedom of expression and the Saudi regime will raise conflicts in the region which will benefit the terrorists, the message said.
Ali Larijani expressed his condolences to the Shia cleric’s family and all the Muslims particularly the country’s Shia community.
