In statements to the media, Erdogan said that the leaders of these nations with more robust economies than Turkey, just are hoping that these people 'die and get lost in the waters of the Mediterranean' and for that reason, they are keeping their doors closed to those immigrants.
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said that between November, 2015 and February,2016, about 5.000 undocumented immigrants will arrive on daily basis to Europe from Turkey.
The total number of migrants who cross the Mediterranean Sea could exceed one million people by the end of 2015, the UNHCR predicted.
The European Union recently warned that about three million migrants will arrive in member countries of the bloc between 2015 and 2017 and established the need to implement a rapid and effective response to address the immigration crisis.
However, there is disagreement between member countries of the bloc that prevent them for finding a joint solution and some of them reject a redistribution of refugees with mandatory fees.
The Turkish president referred in his statements to the importance of the next G20 Summit, to be held in Turkey, and asked for maximum attention to this issue as well as for greater cooperation against international terrorism and, in particular, the fight against the ISIL in Iraq and Syria.
The president expressed that hopes that G20 Summit, which will session on November 15-16 in the coastal city of Antalya, southwest of the country, serves as a platform for the heads of state to openly discuss these issues and arrive to an understanding.
