Germany, Austria to hold Iran’s history exhibition

TEHRAN, Sep. 23 (MNA) – Director general of ICHHTO for museum affairs has announced that Germany and Austria will exhibit Iran’s historical objects after holding relevant negotiations.

Director General of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) for Museum Affairs Mohammad Reza Kargar reported on Iran’s plan to hold exhibitions of Iran’s historical monuments in Germany and Austria in 2016 and 2017 underlining the need to sign Memorandums of Understanding to this end.

“By holding these exhibitions, the history, art and culture of every country will be introduced to the world and it must be the mission of museums to make people familiar with the civilizations of other lands; accordingly, Iran’s ICHHTO aims to hold several exhibitions including the ‘Seven Thousand Years of Iranian Art’ which was held in 16 different countries,” Kargar noted.

This official concluded that, “we are planning to host other countries’ exhibitions and to show our own historical objects in other countries; therefore, it was agreed to set up an exhibition of Iran’s history in Bonn, Germany for which we will sign an MoU with the German side next month.”
