Teahouse paintings and calligraphy works on display in Tehran

TEHRAN, Mar. 4 (MNA) -- An exhibition of teahouse paintings and calligraphy works is currently underway at the Avicenna Research Center in Tehran.

Calligraphy works by masters Mir-Emad, Mirza Gholamreza Isfahani, Vesal Shirazi, Ahmad Neyrizi, Mohammad-Ebrahim Qomi, Mohammad Khansari, Hasan Mirkhani, and Ahmad Najafi Zanjani are on display.

 

Teahouse paintings by Mohammad Modabber, Hossein Qollar-Aqasi, Rasul Emami, Mohammad Rahmani, Abbas Bolukifar, and Hossein Hamedani are also on exhibit.

 

Teahouse painting is a style of art depicting Islamic and ancient Iranian epic tales rooted in the beliefs of the people. Qollar-Aqasi and Modabber, with their unique styles, are regarded as the two masters of teahouse painting.

 

The exhibition will run through until March 14 at the Avicenna Research Center, which is located on Kian St., near Kaj Square, in the Saadatabad neighborhood.
