Mehran customs resumes trade activities

TEHRAN, Dec. 20 (MNA) – Mehran city governor has announced that Mehran customs trading activity has been resumed.

In an interview to Mehr News, Morad Naseri said, “after a short pause due to the high volume of traffic during Arbaeen, Mehran border customs trade activity has resumed.”

He said business owners could go to the border for office works and commercial dealings.

"Based on the latest surveys carried out," Naseri said, "838 thousand tons of goods worth of $332.5 million have been exported to Iraq through Mehran border during the first half of the current Iranian year, which indicates 14% rise compared compared to last year."

“More than a thousand trucks carrying export goods enter Iraq across the international border every day,” Naseri said, noting that Mehran international border is one of the most important gates of pilgrim traffic as well as exporting Iranian goods to Iraq.
