Iran offers condolences to Afghanistan landslide victims

TEHRAN, May 3 (MNA) – Iran’s FM spokeswoman has offered Iran’s condolences for the victims of Afghanistan landslide.

A landslide in Badakhshan province of Afghanistan killed many and buried many others still missing.

Marzieh Afkham offered Iran’s condolences and sympathy for the victims of landslide to the Afghan people and government.

Afkham also voiced the official position of the foreign ministry about the clashes in Ukraine. She expressed concerns over the escalation of conflict and violence in eastern part of Ukraine and expressed hope that the conflict end peacefully.

Afkham believed that crisis in Ukraine. “No doubt that the escalation of clashes and its extension to other parts of the country will confound the already complex situation and it will make difficult finding a sustainable solution to the crisis,” Afkham said.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran believes the status quo in Ukraine contradicts Ukrainian national interests and calls for stability and peace in the Black Sea region especially Ukraine,” she asserted.
