Iran exports $5.7b, imports $29b in ten months

TEHRAN, Feb. 4 (MNA) – The non-oil commodities exported from Iran in the first ten months of the year (started March 21, 2004) reached 5.76 billion dollars in value showing an 11 percent increase compared with the same period last year, according to a report released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The average value of each ton of exports was about 427 dollars showing some 0.7 percent decrease compared with last year.

 

The petrochemical and industry sectors have a share of 66.5 percent and other sectors such as agriculture, handicrafts and carpets, and mining have a share of 20.2 percent, 8.8 percent, and 4.5 percent respectively.

 

However, the imported commodities stood at nearly 29.3 billion dollars in value showing a 34.2 percent increase.

 

The average value of each ton of imports was 1078.3 dollars showing a 25 percent increase.
