Iran wins West Asia Badminton Championships

MANAMA, Bahrain, Nov. 30 (MNA) -- Iran’s men’s and women’s badminton teams emerged as championships at the first BAC-West Asia Universal Team Championships on Monday.

In the competitions held in Manama’s Indian Club, the Iranian teams claimed the titles and the host finished runners-up in the women's and men's categories.
 
Iran men’s team defeated Bahrain 3-2 and completed this round robin tournament on top with a 5-0 win-loss record and 10 points to their credit.

Prizes were presented to the winners after the finals. The event was attended by Iran Badminton Federation president Mohammed Reza Pouria, Indian Club's president P. K. Paul, Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation's general-secretary Hisham Al Khan, and other officials.
