Egypt agrees to allow Iran send aid to Gazans: MP

TEHRAN, Dec. 29 (MNA) – Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Chairman Alaeddin Boroujerdi said that Egypt has agreed to open its borders to allow Iran send humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Boroujerdi told reporters that Tehran had earlier asked Egypt to allow Iran to send relief aid to the Gazans through its air or land borders with Gaza, but Egyptian officials refused.

Except Israel, Egypt is the only country which borders the Gaza Strip.

The lawmaker said Iran has been holding negotiations with concerned countries and organizations since the Gaza siege began, but it was Egypt which did not agree to open its borders to the coastal enclave.

The Zionist regime has been pounding the defenseless civilians of Gaza with air strikes, but this war, like the 33-day Lebanon war, will eventually end to the advantage of the Palestinians, he predicted.

The senior MP went on to say that the current regional and international outcry over the Israeli attacks will lead to the victory of Palestinians.
