Conducted by Majid Entezami, “Recite This Chapter with Me” depicts the epic of the Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988) and the performance was warmly received last year.
“Last year’s performance inspired us to perform the symphony with some slight changes this year and it opens on September 25, said Majid Entezami.
“The majority of the music has not changed and there are only some minor changes in the performance by the actors. In addition, actor Ezzatollah Entezami is due to play a piece based on the music played in the background,” said stage director of the program Majid Parsaii.
“The music begins with cuts from the film “The Day of the Event”. It continues to narrate the epic of the liberty of Khorramshahr. Afterwards, music from the films “From Karkheh to the Rhine”, “The Scent of Yusef’s Shirt” and “The Glass Agency” follows,” Parsaii noted, adding that all the music has been composed by Majid Entezami.
Parsaii also remarked that two narrators, Merila Zarei and Habib Rezaii, are to accompany the team of the actors on stage. The symphony suite concludes with the Sacrifice Symphony, one of Entezami’s recent works.
The ticket price for the suite symphony varies. The ticket for seats on the ground floor will cost 250,000 rials (about $25); the first balcony, 200,000 rials (about $20) and the rest are 150,000 rials (about $15). Students receive a 50% discount.
