TEHRAN, Jan. 12 (MNA) – Thousands of people in Tehran gathered in Enghelab Square on Monday afternoon to express their hatred and disgust against recent riots which triggered by foreign-backed rioters.

In Tehran and other Iranian cities, people from different walks of life held Iran’s flag in their hands and chanted slogan to renew allegiance with the Islamic Revolution’s ideals.

The administration of President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a statement after a cabinet meeting late on Sunday, saying the Iranian nation has had the firsthand experience of the Daesh type criminal and terrorist acts, resulting in the martyrdom of “our beloved fellow countrymen, including the Basij volunteer forces, police and security personnel.”

Tehran and several other cities witnessed violent riots on Thursday and Friday nights, with the Israeli and US-backed saboteurs and rioters setting fire to public and private property, causing extensive damage.
