Iran to never agree to give up enrichment, senior cleric says

TEHRAN, Oct. 3 (MNA) – The interim Friday Prayers leader in Tehran stressed that Iran will never give up on the right to enrich uranium despite any pressures, stressing that the country will never accept bullying and oppression.

Speaking during this week's Friday Prayers sermon in Tehran earlier today, Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami pointed to the recent speech by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, stressing the need for maintaining unity amid the increased pressures from the enemy.

He noted that as the Leader said that the country must preserve its enrichment industry because it has a lot of applications in different fields.

"In his message, the Leader emphasized that no one has the right to say that Iran should not enrich uranium. This view is humiliating and the Islamic Republic of Iran will never accept it," Ayatollah Khatami said.

"It is better to die with dignity than to live in humiliation," he continued.

Tehran's interim Friday prayer leader continued to address the issue of Palestine, saying, "Trump's evil plan and the plans that have been drawn against the Palestinian people are aimed at humiliating and dominating the Palestinian people. Some countries are silent or passive in the face of these crimes; I'd like to say to those countries: The Prophet (PBUH) stood up against oppression; so you too do not remain silent in the face of it."
