Shamkhani Meets Sudanese Interior Minister

TEHRAN, October 15 (Mehr News Agency) -- Major General Abdul Al-Rahim Mohammad-Hussein, the Sudanese interior minister and chairman of Sudanese Defense Industries, met with the Iranian Defense Minister Ali Shamkhani here on Tuesday evening.

Mohammad-Hussein is in Iran to hold consultations with Iranian political and security officials. He discussed a great number of defense and security issues in his meeting with Rear Admiral Shamkhani.

Shamkhani pointed to the expanding relations between the two countries, adding that countries opposed to U.S. unilateralism should unite and work together in light of the critical and complicated international situation.

“Unfortunately, today U.S. unilateralism is doing the bidding of a minority Zionist group through its actions and has overtly directed its aggressive policy toward the Islamic world,” he said.

The Iranian defense minister condemned the Zionist regime’s recent attack on Syria, stressing that unilateralism applies its regional policies according to the Zionists’ interests.

“The Zionists’ recent attack on Syria shows that they are trying to spread their internal crisis throughout the Middle East region,” he said.

Shamkhani also mentioned the peace talks being held in Sudan and expressed hope that stability would soon be reestablished in the country.

Meanwhile, the Sudanese minister called for increasing bilateral defense and security cooperation.

Mohammad-Hussein thanked Iranian officials for their efforts to help reestablish peace in Sudan and called for further cooperation between the two countries in the peace process in Sudan.
