Top Iranian, Kazakh security officials meet in Astana

TEHRAN, Apr. 03 (MNA) – The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali-Akbar Ahmadian held a meeting with Kazakh Security Council Secretary Gizat Nurdauletov in Astana, Kazakhstan on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Nurdauletov expressed condolences for the martyrdom of a number of Iranian advisers in Syria and condemned the attack on the consular section of Iran's embassy in Damascus, Syria.

The two sides discussed various cooperation issues, including security, politics, economics, intelligence, and defense.

They agreed to maintain close contact with their national security councils to achieve the objectives set by their leaders.

Ali-Akbar Ahmadian left Tehran for Astana on Tuesday morning at the head of a high-ranking delegation to participate in the meeting of secretaries of the Security Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The 19th meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the SCO member states will be held in Astana on April 2-3, 2024.
