“Fifth Reaction” in Cairo Int’l Film Festival

TEHRAN, Oct.5 (Mehr News Agency) – The feature-length “Fifth Reaction” by Tahmineh Milani is to participate in the 27th Cairo International Film Festival on October 7, Egypt.

Participating in the competition section of the festival, the film had in the past attended several international festivals of Montreal, Venice and Los Angeles.

“Fifth Reaction” is to compete with 17 films judged by a jury panel of 12 members.

Iranian films “Tehran, 7 O’clock P.M,” and “Noura” are to participate in the non-competition section of the festival.

“The Last Supper” by Fereydoon Jeyrani attended the previous festival and actress Katayoun Riyahi won the fist leading actress award of the 26th festival.

Actress Niki Karimi also was selected as the first leading actress in 2001 for acting in the film “Hidden Half” by Tahmineh Milani.
 
“To Be or Not to Be” won the best film screen award of the 22nd festival, while Pegah Ahangarani, actress of the film “A Girl in Sneakers” won the best actress award at the 23rd festival.

Several sections of the festival are dedicated to Arab New Cinema, Arab Female Directors, as well as cinemas of Germany, France and South Korea, and the honorary ceremonies of the world cinema veterans are among other programs of the festival.
