Iron Supplements to Be Distributed

TEHRAN, September 27 (Mehr News Agency) -- Robabeh Sheikh ul-Islam, the director of the Office for Improving Society’s Nutrition in the Health Ministry, has announced that iron supplement pills will be distributed to girls’ high schools because over 50 percent of all Iranian girls and women suffer from an iron deficiency.

Sheikh ul-Islam said that according to the plan, iron supplement pills and pamphlets on proper nutrition would be given to the high school girls.

 

She also mentioned another plan to prevent iron deficiencies among children, according to which iron supplement drops will be given to urban and rural families by health centers.
