Moscow is Tehran’s partner in nuclear activities: MP

TEHRAN, Dec. 12 (MNA) -- MP Kazem Jalali, the Iranian chairman of the Iran–Russia Interparliamentary Friendship Group, said on Monday that Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel’s visit to Russia at this critical juncture is quite significant.

He told the Mehr News Agency that he hopes that bilateral relations between Tehran and Moscow will be strengthened by the trip, adding that Haddad-Adel’s visit to Moscow heading a parliamentary delegation will pave the way for Iran to gain access to nuclear technology meant for peaceful purposes.

Jalali, who is also the rapporteur of the Majlis Foreign Policy and National Security Committee, said that the Iranian delegation would mainly be discussing political, international, and nuclear issues with Russian officials and noted that Moscow is Tehran’s partner in bolstering nuclear relations.

Methods to counter terrorism and drug smuggling, the process of drafting the legal regime of the Caspian Sea, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and security issues are also on the agenda of the talks.
