US should respect nations’ freedom, stop bullying others

TEHRAN, Nov. 24 (MNA) – President Hassan Rouhani said the United States wants the countries in the region and the whole world to “be its slaves”, adding that Washington should stop bullying others and respect their rights.

Speaking on Saturday at the 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran, President Rouhani said “the disagreement between the Islamic World and the United States is regarding freedom and slavery.”

He stressed “the United States’ bullying and interests are not the basis… The base is respecting the rights and interests of other people.”

Saying that Muslim nations do not accept the present situation in the region, the president said the logic of Islam is freedom of human societies.

He said "that is what the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) has brought to us as the path of light and guidance.”

“Islam is the religion of respecting human beings and high human values,” he continued, adding that “dignity of Muslims in the world depends on the recognition of the Prophet's intended freedom.”

Noting that “what the United States wants in the region today is slavery,” Rouhani said “after World War II, the United Nations was formed based on more power and the right to veto, and anyone having deadlier weapon, got the right to veto in the world.”

He added, “one of the most important effects of World War II was the formation of a cancerous tumor in the region.”
The president went on to say, “they deployed a power in the region that completely obeys the West in regional matters,” adding, “they formed the fake Israeli regime and killed and displaced the historical nation of Palestine.”

“If the United States is honest in saying that they have confidence in some countries in the region, why do they say that the reason for protecting them is Israel's survival and security?” Rouhani said.

He continued, “submission to America and the West means betraying Islamic ideals and Muslim generations, and laying red carpet for historic criminals.”

“We are not afraid of those who draw sword against Islam; hard days strengthen our faith,” Rouhani added.

“In times of war, there’s sometimes victory and sometimes failure, but if we stand for God, we will be the ultimate victor.”

“Nobody can put off the light of truth and dominate darkness on the Islamic community,” said Rouhani adding, “Young people should know that we will put hardships behind us.”

Pointing to the resistance of the people in the region against terrorism, Rouhani said, the Yemenis are resisting against the bombing by Western weapons with bare hands.

He added that “over the past 40 years and during the [Iraq-Iran] war, we resisted against the entire world and won.”

“The day when our people were under rocket and chemical bombs attack, nobody in the world spoke about it.”

“With the transfer of its embassy to al-Quds, the United States has shown hostility towards the World of Islam more than ever,” said Rouhani.

“Relying on foreigners is the biggest historical mistake; you gave a $450-billion gift to ensure your security?” he continued, “they said you were dairy cattle; at least do not accept open insults from the United States.”

“We are ready to support the people of Saudi Arabia against aggression, terrorism and plundering,” said Rouhani, adding, “We consider you and the peoples of the region our brothers”.

Stating that, “The enemy is not afraid of the unity slogan,” the President said, “we will win against Zionism and the US if we become united.”

He continued, “All Islamic religions are recognized,” adding that “unity in language is not possible, but unity is the product of the heart, not the language.”

All branches of Islam must recognize each other, he said, adding that “instead of inviting other branches of Islam to your branch, invite the world to Islam.”

The president said “the unity of the World of Islam is not temporary or tactical; even if there is no hostility, unity is strategic for the World of Islam”.

He said, “If we follow the path of Prophet Muhammad, our happiness in the world and the after world is guaranteed.”

“If we stand around the Prophet (PBUH), our strength will be more than the enemies’ weapon.”

The 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference opened in Tehran on Saturday and will continue through Monday (Nov. 26).

Over 350 scholars, religious thinkers, ministers of the Islamic countries, professors of universities and other scientific and cultural figures from 100 countries have attended the three-day event.

The International Islamic Unity Conference aims at laying the ground for unity and solidarity in the Islamic World and unity among scholars in order to achieve proximity among their scientific and cultural viewpoints. Another objective of the conference is to address the Muslims’ problems, provide appropriate solutions to them, and take a joint stance against them.

The conference is held every year during the Islamic Unity week in Tehran; it is organized by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
