Over 100 people are died and hundreds are missing after a hydroelectric dam under construction in Laos collapsed on 23 July 2018, leading to widespread destruction and homelessness among the local population of the country. Roads were destroyed, houses eradicated and lives lost as the enormous wave of water swept over the southern Laotian province of Attapeu on Monday evening.
The collapse of Laos dam that triggered massive flooding and devastation was due to "substandard construction," the country's Minister of Energy and Mines said.
