Afghan police foil mini-truck bomb blast in Kabul 

KABUL, Oct. 15 (MNA) – Police in the Afghan capital Kabul arrested a would-be suicide bomber late Saturday night and foiled a terrorist attack in the city, Interior Ministry said in a statement released here Sunday.

"Acting upon intelligence report Kabul Police arrested a suicide bomber who was driving an explosive-laden mini-truck and attempting to blow it up in Kabul city," the statement said.

"The police by arresting the terrorist and defusing explosives placed on the mini-truck in fact foiled deadly terrorist attack in Kabul and saved the city from a big tragedy," the statement added.

In late May this year, a powerful vehicle bomb hit Kabul city, killing more than 100 people and injuring more than 400 others.
