President Rouhani leaves Astana for Tehran

TEHRAN, Sep. 10 (MNA) – President Hassan Rouhani of the Islamic Republic of Iran who traveled to Astana for attending the first OIC Summit on Science and Technology, left the Kazakh capital on Sunday.

President Hassan Rouhani who went to Kazakh capital city of Astana upon the invitation of his Kazakh counterpart, left the Central Asian country after addressing the first OIC summit on Science and Technology, attending the emergency meeting on Rohingya Muslims’ genocide in Myanmar, and meeting with his counterparts from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and the host country.

Mr. Rouhani discussed the latest regional and international developments in his meetings with his counterparts.   

At the end of the summit, an emergency meeting on reviewing the humanitarian situation of Rohingya minority in Myanmar was held and the OIC heads of states called for immediate stop to the atrocities underway against the Muslims in Myanmar in the concluding communiqué.
