Zarif to visit Pakistan on Mirjaveh terrorist clash

TEHRAN, May 02 (MNA) – Foreign Minister Javad Zarif will depart for Islamabad on Wednesday morning for a visit on security issues.

“Mr. Zarif would lead a high-ranking political, military and security delegation to Pakistan on Wednesday,” announced Bahram Ghasemi, spokesman of the Foreign Ministry.

Ghasemi underlined that the visit would focus on Mirjaveh terrorist clash; “besides pursuing the horrific attack, Mr. Zarif would hold talks with Pakistani senior officials on establishing security at Iran-Pakistan borders and preventing the intrusion of terrorists.”

On Wednesday (April 26) evening, ten Iranian border guards were martyred during an attack by terrorists in a cross-border attack on the frontier with Pakistan at Mirjaveh in Sistan-Baluchestan province,

A terrorist group calling itself Jaish al-Adl has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
