Iran, Kazakhstan celebrate 25th anniv. of diplomatic ties

TEHRAN, Mar. 17 (MNA) – Attended by Iran and Kazakhstan deputy FMs, exhibition of documents and review meeting on the occasion of 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, were held in Astana.

Iranian Deputy FM for Asia and Oceania Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour, Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Akylbek Kamaldinov, former foreign ministry officials of Kazakhstan, ambassadors and university professors of the two countries attended the meeting.

Kamaldinov pointing to Iran as the first country to recognize Kazakhstan's independence, said relations with Iran as an important country in the region with shared cultural and historical background, have seen a growing trend during the last 25 years.

Rahimpour, for his part, said the ties between the two countries and nations are not limited to the last 25 years, but is rooted in age-old interactions, based on common culture, language, literature and customs between the two countries.

Deputy FM said signing more than 100 public documents and 14 mutual visits by the presidents of the two countries in 25 years indicates the willingness to develop friendly relations at the bilateral, regional and international levels.
