Zarif meets his Chilean counterpart

TEHRAN, Aug. 26 (MNA) – Foreign Minister Zarif and his Chilean counterpart, Heraldo Muñoz Valenzuela discussed the ways to broaden bilateral ties especially in economic areas after the JCPOA.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Chilean counterpart Heraldo Muñoz Valenzuela were the first foreign ministers of both countries who held a bilateral meeting since 1979.

The historic meeting was held in Chilean capital city of Santiago on Thursday behind the closed doors.

The ways to expand bilateral ties, especially in the area of economic cooperation, was to be discussed between the two senior diplomats. In addition, the recent developments in South America, Middle East, and the world were also supposed to be conferred on.
