Iran, S Korea keen on expanding nuclear coop.

TEHRAN, Jan. 27 (MNA) – Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi expressed Iran's eagerness to further cooperation with South Korea in construction of small reactors and large nuclear power plants.

Speaking in a meeting with South Korean Ambassador to Tehran Kim Sung-ho on Tuesday, Salehi said Iran also seeks to broaden relations with Seoul in manufacturing advanced nuclear medicine equipment and other fields of peaceful nuclear technology.

He noted that Iran is eager to boost cooperation in constructing small reactors, big nuclear power plants and peaceful nuclear medical equipments.

Hailing the official implementation of JCPOA, Sung-ho, for his part, stressed the nuclear deal signed on July 14, has opened a new chapter in international cooperation.

"Nuclear energy can be an engine for a leap in bilateral ties," Sung-hu underlined.

During the meeting, they also discussed the issues of mutual interest to deepen dialogue and bilateral relations and cooperation in industrial, nuclear and other fields.
