Shamkhani:

'JCPOA will change the false image made of Iran'

'JCPOA will change the false image made of Iran'

TEHRAN, Nov. 08 (MNA) – Iran’s secretary of SNSC said implementation of JCPOA will change the false image made of Iran by the West.

“Implementation of JCPOA will change the false image made of Iran by Westerners while Iran’s true image will remain intact,” said Head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani, talking to IRIB on Saturday night.

He highlighted that Iran’s approach in defending the oppressed and defenseless people of Palestine, Yemen and Syria as well as in smart confrontation with US colonialism will not change.

“Iran’s clear response to violation of the nuclear deal would be returning to its desired point,” said Shamkhani stating likelihood of violation of the agreement on the part of the US rather than the European side.

Secretary of SNSC stressed that the spinning centrifuges have not been collected adding, “implementation of JCPOA follows a specific timetable and although necessary grounds to clean up Natanz and Fordow’s scraps have been provided, no centrifuge has been amassed.”

“We are awaiting the Board of Governor’s formal verdict on closure of Iran’s nuclear document which will smooth the implementation of JCPOA,” he noted.

Stressing the need to put aside the past and focus on implementation of JCPOA leading to national cohesion, Shamkhani maintained, “Iran will move towards acceptable and peaceful nuclear power which demands avoiding the negative views on implementing JCPOA.”

He further stated, “Iran has always looked for a balanced agreement and based on the Leader’s remarks, it was the West who had reached an impasse while Iran would never stop peaceful nuclear activities.”

Underlining that the supervisory board for tracking the implementation of JCPOA has not been formed yet, the official added, “we are still selecting smart individuals to form the committee since monitoring and enforcement of the provisions of the National Security Council requires a high level of intelligence."

Noting the regional crises, Shamkhani said Iran’s presence in Damascus is to provide advice rather than participating in the war; “we need to take part in Syria and Iraq as consultants in order to avoid disintegration of Iran’s borders as a result of ongoing issues in neighboring countries,” he emphasized.

He further emphasized the differences between policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and America particularly with regard to combating terrorism; “we would never follow US behavior in occupation and colonization of countries," maintained the official.

“The US follows double-policies even on the issue of human rights because its most important allies in the region are the most cruel ones,” he added.

Referring to the recent Saudi attacks on Yemen, the official asserted, “Saudi Arabia spends a monthly cost of ten to twelve billion dollars to attack Yemen from every side imposing the most ruthless economic blockade against Yemenis without achieving any results.”

Shamkhani went on to refer to the bitter Mina disaster holding Saudi government as responsible and urging the formation of a fact-finding committee adding, “Mina incident could have been avoided and Saudis need to ensure that similar incident will not repeat.”

On the latest status of former Iranian ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi, he said, “the ministry of foreign affairs is pursuing the case of Roknabadi while his current condition is vague.”

Shamkhani further deemed cooperation with neighbors and friends as one of the priorities of Iran’s foreign policy; “we expect the cooperation to accelerate after the implementation of JCPOA,” he concluded.
