'Iran aims win-win strategy in international cooperation'

TEHRAN, Oct. 5 (MNA) – Meeting with British economic officials, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade has said that Iran’s foreign policy is based on long-term win-win cooperation and the government seeks investment-based international relations.

At a meeting with Head of British Chamber of Commerce Sir Richard Dalton on Sunday, Mohammad-Reza Nematzadeh announced Iran’s eagerness in conducting long-term and strategic cooperation in several fields including the upstream and downstream oil and gas industries, mines, raw materials and equipment, cement and steel mills.

He noted the re-opening of Britain’s Embassy in Iran and added that, “other possible areas for joint collaboration between the two countries include research and development, marketing, export as well as investment in all industrial, mineral, and trade fields.”

“Iran seeks to design a road-map for implementation of all joint cooperation potentials between the two parties and we have recently offered the list of 328 investment priorities in different sectors of industry, mine and commerce,” underlined Nematzadeh.

The Iranian official further said that, “after the removal of sanctions, the volume of trade between Iran and UK is expected to rise.”

Head of British Chamber of Commerce Sir Richard Dalton, for his part, called for the two countries collaboration in compiling a program for industrial, mineral and commercial relations and said that, “London looks for bilateral relations which is clear, understandable and legal.”

The British official expressed hope that the problems faced by businessmen in issuance of visa will be alleviated.

Also at the meeting, the International Trade Advisor Alan Rides said that, “we are making an effort to encourage British businessmen to invest in Iran.”

The two sides also exchanged views on transfer of technology, and cooperation in the insurance, transport, commerce, medical equipment and petrochemical industry.
