Iranian play to be staged in Armenia

TEHRAN, Sep. 29 (MNA) – Iranian play My Name Is Iran will be staged at the 13th edition of the HIGH FEST, an international festival of performing arts in Yerevan, Armenia.

Directed by Dariush Nasiri, the play will be performed on October 4 in the festival, which is to be held 1-10 October 2015.

The work is themed on Sacred Defense and chemical weapons and is supposed to be staged in the Iranian play style (tazieh and naqali).  

Dariush Nasiri is a noted Iranian stage director, actor and writer. He has bagged several national and international awards so far.

The 13th HIGH FEST International Performing Arts Festival will be attended by 24 countries including the US, Russia, France, Ukraine, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Swiss, Belgium, Singapore, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands and Spain.

Organized by Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema, the HIGH FEST welcomes cultural organizations and artists to present their productions in theater, dance, music and other forms of the performing arts.

Iranian troupes have participated in the festival over the past few years.
