Terrorism grave threat to all nations

TEHRAN, Jul. 21 (MNA) – A Sunni top cleric has denounced the claims made by countries to fight terrorism as baseless.

Abdolrashid Shahbakhsh, Sunni Friday Prayer Imam of Zabol in Sistan and Baluchistan Sunni-majority province in southeast of Iran, who was addressing a meeting of the Second Congress of 17,000 Iranian Terror Victims on Tuesday, lamented the fact that non-Muslims had abused the internal conflicts of Muslims against them; “the claims to fight terrorism are absolutely baseless, since they commit terrorist act on daily basis; resort to terrorism is condemned by Islam and the whole humanity,” he added.

“Islam endorses killing of fellow humans only in three restricted cases. The wanton killing of innocent humans for attaining personal, political, financial, and other sorts of sublunary attractions injures human conscience, hurting the Islamic and human sensitivities,” Shahbakhsh asserted. “Terrorism has created drastic situations around the world; the horrors of terrorism reign the world, and many countries contribute to this horrification, each to their own peculiar interests; this is quite disturbing,” he said.

On the responsibilities of Islamic governments about terrorism, Shahbakhsh emphasized that any wise government and nation should work to identify the roots of terrorism, and to bring about mutual understanding and love among different religions denominations and faiths to sit in a dialogue in a framework of humanity,” he demanded.
